About the Event
Greetings fellow stoics! This time around we will be discussing an author-psychiatrist who has been mentioned on several occasions in several channels: Viktor Frankl. He was an eminent psychiatrist and contemporary of Freud, but more importantly for our context, a holocaust survivor who had written autobiographically on his tribulations and his philosophy on the purpose and way of living reminds us of stoic principles and practices. Let's focus on just one text: Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning", which you can download here: https://www.pdfdrive.com/mans-search-for-meaning-e158500336.html. The translation is in English and while you can read as much as you want, for this week, let's assign to us the first part, his experiences in a concentration camp. We have the option of having a second meeting the week afterward also on Viktor Frankl in case we have some members who weren't able to make it or we have more to discuss. A couple of words: (1) If you haven't already, you can join our Telegram channel by messaging the principal organizer, Steve, your cell number and he'll add you. (2) The link to this event will be posted closer to the event start time, but we do use https://meet.jit.si/. We look forward to seeing you there!
