Greetings Stoics! I thought it would be useful to use this forum to also include recommendations based on our weekly event topics. This thread will be used to delve deeper into Buddhism and Taoism, two ancient yet modernized Asian philosophies which we compare and contrast with Stoicism. Some of us even adopt some of their practices or principles to complement our Stoicism! Use this thread to post resources we can use to learn more about Buddhism, Taoism, other Eastern philosophies, and how they compare and contrast with Stoicism. If you post something specifically about Buddhism, then attach #buddhism at the end, about Taoism them #taoism, and so forth.

Whether you live in Berlin or elsewhere in the world, we hope that Berlin Stoics, while centrally located in Berlin, Germany for in-person meetups, becomes a thriving community of stoics and stoic-interested people around the world who use this forum to organically and democratically share ideas, perspectives, and knowledge with each other, give others advice, discuss stoicism generally or debate stoic topics at any level of intellectual inquiry, explore stoic thought and practice perhaps through recommended meditation techniques or journalistic habits, and much more. Because we had been founded in 2020, we were quick to realize that an organization today, whether that be a for-profit, NPO, or democratic and non-established organization, cannot exist without a virtual space for activity. And this space must be open, inclusive, and safe except at the expense of permitting misinformation like so many online presences (e.g. facebook) allow without critical reflection and action. You can participate in the forum once you register a profile with our website. Your name need not be your real name; we understand anonymity is your choice. However we would like that your posts and all submissions are historically correspondent with the submitter's online identity. A first few forum threads will open up soon to start engaging new members and get us acquainted with how possibly we can grow here together. Nothing has such power to broaden the mind as the ability to investigate systematically and truly all that comes under thy observation in life. - Marcus Aurelius, The Meditations
